Ralph Visits Space Shuttle Facilities

I was part of a team doing work for NASA from 1997 to 2001. During a visit to the Kennedy Space Center, I had the opportunity to go to Pad 39B and visit the shuttle Discovery during its prelaunch preparations. Later the team went to the Vertical Assembly Building and the orbiter prep facility. This video ends watching veteran astronaut John Young get in his T-38 and fly back to Houston after a briefing at KSC. The narrating voice through much of the video is Hugo Delgado, who was an associate administrator at KSC.

I've learned that Hugo Delgado passed away in July 2009. He was a fine gentleman and a leader in manned spaceflight at NASA; his gracious offer to take our team on a tour of the space shuttle complex on that November afternoon led to one of the most memorable days in my life. He was honored by the crew of STS-127 with a mission flag, taken to space by Endeavour, signed by all 13 astronauts who participated in the mission. Below are several images of that flight, provided by his sister-in-law, Janice Buczkowski.
